How to play

  1. Connect nearby

    Enter your name to reach the lobby with Toate categoriile (All categories) selected. The Host can change the selection from the category card. On the same Wi-Fi, the Guest selects the Host’s name; compare the code and approve the connection on both devices.

  2. Give each other clues

    Describe their identity without saying the name. Listen for clues about yours.

  3. Guess who you are

    Either player can tap “Arată variantele” (Show options) to open both lists. Each gets up to 10 choices from the same theme. Your confirmed answer is final.

Categories and themes

Familiar names, from animals and food to famous people. Bundled catalog: 11 categories, 26 themes and 800 identities. Toate categoriile (All categories) mixes only the bundled themes the Host can access, excluding saved lists. The picker puts Categoriile mele (My categories) first, then Toate categoriile; each bundled category also offers Toate temele (All themes).

Secret Subject +

Guess the people in your world.

From the lobby’s category card, open Categoriile mele (My categories) for themes such as “Our friends”, “Family” or “Colleagues”. Enter your own names and save them on your device for the next game.

  1. Create a theme.

    From the lobby, open the category card, then Categoriile mele (My categories) and Creează o temă (Create a theme). Choose a title you both recognize.

  2. Add at least 5 names.

    Enter a name of up to 15 characters and add it with + or Enter. You can remove entries from the list before saving.

  3. Save and select the theme.

    After adding the names, tap Salvează tema (Save theme). The Host selects the theme from the lobby before the first round or between rounds; the Guest joins without saving the same list.

Secret Subject +

The Host unlocks all bundled categories and can create and play custom themes for both players. The Guest does not need a second subscription.

Animals, Food and Objects and transport are free: 10 themes and 339 identities.

Choose how you want to play.

After checking access, the app without Plus first shows the benefits, a top-right X and “Continuă gratuit” (Continue free). Either action reaches Home. Verified subscribers start at Home, and returning from the background does not reopen the offer. The Secret Subject + card reopens benefits and plans, restore or subscription management. In the prepared version, Plus adds a small “+” in the corner of the icon on Home and in iOS. When the subscription ends, the original icon returns; the artwork keeps its size and position.

Both plans offer the same benefits and renew automatically until cancelled. Apple shows the final price in the app. This subscription applies only to Secret Subject, separately from Bluff Artist + and Impostor +.

Purchase, restore and subscription management use Apple in the app. The game remains for exactly two players on two devices.

Frequently asked questions

Help with connecting
Which devices do we need?

Two iPhones or iPads with iOS/iPadOS 26.6 or later and the same updated app build. Connect both to the same usable Wi-Fi network and allow Local Network access for Secret Subject. Older builds cannot join the nearby-game flow.

Do we need internet?

No internet connection is needed for gameplay, but both devices must use the same Wi-Fi network. Select the Host’s chosen name, compare the code on both screens, then confirm on the joining device and accept on the Host’s device. Game data uses the approved encrypted local connection, without a game server. Guest or public Wi-Fi may block communication between devices.

How do you win a round?

The first correct answer earns a point. If you both answer correctly almost together, the round can end in a draw with a point each. A wrong answer loses the round immediately.

Exact timing and scoring rule
Can we change the theme?

Yes. Between rounds, the Host can use “Schimbă tema” without losing the score. Both players then confirm “Runda următoare”. The game remembers identities used in each theme and avoids repeats until the pool needs to reset.

Is the score saved?

Scores and history last for the current session only. “Joc nou” (New game) resets them. Completely closing the app loses the session. Play as many rounds as you like.

Can we add friends or our own themes?

Yes, with Secret Subject +. The Host saves up to 10 themes under Temele mele, each with 5–50 distinct names. Titles allow up to 30 characters and each new or updated name up to 15. The full list stays on the Host’s device; the Guest needs no subscription or saved copy. After expiry you can view, edit and delete saved themes; creating and playing them requires Plus.
